React is used across the company. I see it kind of like an internal tooling team that just happened to open source the tool. I think it will continue to be maintained
Internally, definitely. But open sourcing things has a (dollars/time/opportunity) cost that Facebook may decide to no longer pay, or can no longer afford to with a smaller team.
