Depends on your definition of dirty. I'd take "air traffic control running on emacs" over "guy prints out a form he received digitally and other guy types it into their computer by hand" any day. The first seems dirty, the second one is downright idiotic.

Guess which one you would see more of.

I don’t think that’s idiotic. There is no standard way of transferring a file from on device to another. That is a failing of the tech industry.

There is no standard for what a file is. It is turtles all the way down.

Still there are 100 faster, more efficent and less error prone ways to get data from A to B than printing it out and having another guy type it.
