It's not adaptive cruise control. Teslas already have adaptive cruise control, for free, on every model. The FSD feature also steers the car.

I think without autopilot/fsd you just get dumb cruise control. There is no follow distance.

If it slows down for cars it might be emergency collision avoidance that does it.

Autosteer and adaptive cruise control (honoring following distance) are standard in Basic Autopilot.
