Quiet layoffs are a real thing.

Companies often announce layoffs for various self-serving reasons. Facebook isn't doing that in this case.

They have to spread them around if they are to avoid getting in trouble. The US has notification laws for large layoffs (laws intended for factory towns, but applicable to any company of size).

If only we could get Quiet Journalism

You can actually! Just move to N.Korea, Saudi Arabia, Russia. It is pretty quiet there.

Doesn't seem quiet!

Pyongyang Times showed me that sending wreaths seem to be a very important part of Kim Jong-Un's days.

On the technical side: impressive load times, plain JQuery + Bootstrap (respect), and lots of care with keeping IE8 compatibility.

9/10 with one point lost due to lack of HTTPS.

Also the `<nobr>` around Kim Jong-uns name. Presumably because it would be offensive to not have it all on the same line.

That could be actually funny with a better delivery.

Only the second time I noticed it. Maybe its a quiet trend.

it is indeed quiet annoying.
