If you think Knuth's work is "unproductive" you obviously either don't know much about Knuth, or you just don't know what you are talking about. He has had a profound influence on the field of Computer Science - and everyone who has met him says he's one the nicest, humblest people they've ever met.

I for one would feel privileged to get to meet him.
