And yet significantly cheaper than Apple's Pro Stand.
And more prestigious to boot.
My laptop is raised to the height of my other monitors by Feynman's boxed set of Lectures on Physics, Aho & Ullman's Foundations of Computer Science, and a Scott Adams compendium.
This way my computing is based on a strong foundation...
LoL :) we should have a __how you boost your monitor to the right height thread __ I use Mckusik's freebsd book, Brooks computer architecture, Myth and meaning by Levi-Strauss. The last one is for calibration only.
Ullmann's is actually out of print and increasingly scarce.
Your laptop stand will likely become a family heirloom in the decades to come.
I mean like how about using a cheaper book. Cookbooks are almost literally a dime a dozen at yard sales. Too bad phone books aren't what they used to be.
Printer paper is a good choice as well. Reams are quite sturdy and generally available in offices. You can titrate the height in very small steps if needed. And the stand is easy to reuse when it's no longer needed. Not as low cost as used cookbooks though.
funniest comment of the day.
But you get to brag that you use TAOCP on a regular basis.
