Surely they want to just clear a super edit and ensure that they use the camera angle from the Kings good side.

If on the other hand they want the networks to torch the 10's of thousands of (or more likely 100k+) hours of footage then that is indeed curious, curious to the point where someone needs to sit down and watch it all to find out why!
