That's actually been the opposite of my experience. A year in, my inlaws still thank me for installing Chrome.

You might be able to get them to switch if their are problems are big enough.

I just told him to click the Chrome icon instead of Firefox, and my dad went on his way.

You have to force chrome frame to be the default renderer as well, being chrome frame by default will only be used when a website requests it.
