Did the Cartwheel galaxy (and some other distant galaxies behind it) move slightly up and to the right over the time between the two snapshots?
Webb's observations confirm that the Cartwheel is going through a very fleeting phase. The galaxy, which before the collision was probably a typical spiral galaxy like the Milky Way, will probably continue to change. While Webb provides a glimpse of the Cartwheel's current situation, it also sheds light on the galaxy's past events and potential future developments.
