Police arrest millions of people a year, and a few go south often when the person getting arrested won't follow directions. I bet less than 1% go poorly, which in my opinion is pretty impressive considering the people they are arresting.
The problem most people have is less that some police encounters go south but more that when they do, the government's suggested form of relief appears for you to go fuck yourself.
