Most countries don't allow private police, especially for individuals. This is probably the case in South Korea. So even if he wanted, he couldn't.

I don't know anything about him, but if he is an anti government guy it's very likely that he is indeed in favor of private defense agencies.

Private _protection_ is very different from private _police_. How do you think movie stars, mega popular singers etc. hire their… well, private protection?

Those guards are mostly for show. They really can't do anything. Even then, in South Korea it's even worse because I'm pretty sure they can't even carry a gun.

The happenings in the linked article look like they'd be easily deterred by the presence of strong men guarding the entrances. Not everyone posing a threat, especially in SK, comes in with blazing guns.

He should give a call to Erik Prince [0]. They'd go together well.

Ha! Erik Prince fascinates me...One of the few real-life villians. Must be a unique world being a war-profiteering entrepreneur.

Normally I'm not moved very easily, but reading the Intercept article really makes me freeze a little inside, and think "how's that even possible".

There's a real alternate reality on this planet.
