Not the parent commenter, but its pretty weird / creepy that you spent the time to go through 2 years of their posts to find that rather innocuous comment.

Also, it isn't really cancel culture for a company to say they dont want that on their internal kudos app presumably while using company equipment.

Why would they search specifically for "cancel culture"? It seems pretty obvious that the individual didn't search but instead took the time to try and find anything they could to make OP look bad.

They must have, a chronological search would have found more inflammatory ad hominem attack in my history.

Because it was immediately obvious from their post that they are engaged in political posturing rather than legitimate debate? It's really not hard to tell.

It is a politically loaded article about a politically loaded topic. Of course any factual commentary will have political implications.

Humans have bias, I have bias, and so does everyone posting in this thread. That doesn't negate the point I raised

What you are describing is deeply, deeply pathological. You think people on HN of all places would do that? I mean I guess it is possible but shit man, I don't even know what to think about that.

I agree it's super weird, doesn't feel in the spirit of HN to me.

What a bizarre straw man. People who denounce their employer publicly are not victims of cancel culture.

Also, a word of advice: if you want to convince someone cancel culture isn't real, digging up their comments from 2 years ago is not a great start.
