FFVII is so close to my childhood it’s almost difficult to play it without tearing up.

The soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu is probably the best video game OST ever made.

And it's all MIDI, running on a 24-voice synthesiser with a 470-kilobyte sample bank.

Whenever I'm composing, and I'm tempted to be perfectionist about instrument fidelity or mixing quality, I listen to some Uematsu tracks then go back to my piano roll.

The OST is a masterpiece, and has only gotten better with time.

The Orchestra world tour (https://ffvii-remakeconcerts.com/) is incredible. Definitely recommend seeing it live if you get a chance.

Thanks I’ve gone twice and it was amazing
