"Btrfs is great in its intentions but still not as stable as it should be after all these years of development." may have been true years ago, but doesn't seem to be anymore.
I think the point still stands though. There has been lots of stabilization work done to BTRFS, and anyone using production-recommended features should consider the filesystem stable.
