When I was in grad school at UT Austin we spent a lot of time studying in the map room. As I recall, the tables were quite large and gave us space to spread out books and printouts. We weren't doing anything map-related. It was just a good space.

I also spent a lot of time in the reading room of the Architecture and Planning Library, which was so beautiful it was sometimes hard to focus on what I was studying:
