I'm 32 and at 10 years old I loved watching Windows 98 defrag. <ramble> I also loved Flashget downloading files 10 threads at a time. 10 mb resumable download in 5 hours was amazing for me. A few years later I was ricing Linux with a dangerous tool that prepends binaries with its shared objects dependencies so that every program launch is a contiguous read. Ubuntu then added it as post-trigger to its package manager. There was a hellish period between when Ubuntu removed that trigger and I finally got an SSD (Indian markets still get HDDs).
I (30) also just sent this to my dad. It made him very happy as we reminisced about all the old machines we've gone through over the decades.
Thank you for spending such quality time with your son
