The extreme Right is highly sensitive to issues of fairness, upset that while all other countries enforce their borders, this is denied to the US, and that all ethnic groups except whites have celebrated advocacy groups.

The extreme Left is uncompromising, attacking any attempt to enforce the border or limit immigration, and subverting the rule of law by preventing enforcement of current immigration laws, such as by sanctuary cities, legislative limits on cooperation with ICE, and continual deferment of deportation. They even go so far as to attack language, forbidding the accurate term "illegal immigrant", replacing it with the misleading "undocumented" (lack of documentation is clearly not the issue).
