I think both tweet and this submission are misleading. Github has a new CEO ("Thomas Dohmke (@ashtom), GitHub’s Chief Product Officer" according to their blog post). It doesn't imply Github now reports to another division or group inside Microsoft.

Can you please copy a quote from that article that states "Github(company org chart) now reports to Microsoft Visual Studio"? This is not a snark, I genuinely trying to figure out what I am missing.

I glanced through the article - it mostly deals with dotnet watch fuckup. This article is 2 weeks old, nothing was known about Nat's decision to leave at that time.
