Believe it or not. But Objective-C continuous to evolve. It is not a dead language.
To your downvoters, Metal is actually implemented in a mix of Objective-C and C++, even though most examples use Swift.
...and to be honest, Swift doesn't bring much to the table when just glueing macOS frameworks together (and that's what most macOS applications actually do). Such code is completely dominated by the (quite verbose - both in ObjC and Swift) framework calls.
I actually enjoy not having to type []@ all over the place. :)
Two off the top of my head: direct calls and constant literals.
