Delivery drivers are climate arsonists and should be treated as such. They should be bicycling. I'm against anything that increases the amount of car traffic.

How do you figure? Assuming the alternative is all those consumers individually visiting stores (a good amount of which would likely be driving there to avoid carrying their purchases while in transit or other reasons), it seems like bypassing the extra traffic and emissions with one person delivering packages in an optimized route is much less awful.

I do visit store and I do drive to it. But after a regular grocery run I can cook something along the line of 30 meals.

In my personal exemple it takes 30 less driving around.

And I’m not even trying. I just go grocery shopping every other week.

How many bags do you get, sounds like you need like 10 for that

A smarter proposition would be to petition for the increase in the speed and quality of public transportation. Many people would be happy to utilize that if it were a viable option for them, but for most cities it is simply not a strong enough or reliable enough replacement for transportation.

Increasing the speed and quality of public transportation would quickly see diminishing returns, and significantly eat into their climate advantage.

Its easy to sit on a moral high horse but it doesn't help things. If you do not show a path from where people are now to where you want them to be, then you only have yourself to blame for no one making it there.

Telling people who commute 45 miles to work (because they're priced out of any home or apartment closer to their job) that they should bicycle to work to help save the planet is futile.

Petitioning for an improvement in public transportation that could help take cars off of the road and increase availability of transportation for everyone is a step in the right direction.
