Making GLES3 the baseline and dropping GLES2 is the right thing. I'm glad that Godot was able to make that decision now that Safari is getting WebGL 2 (GLES3) support. I spent a lot of time on the implementation of WebGL 2 in WebKit and it's good to see it helping people.
