Stop your horses cowboy. There is a big difference between political disillusion and "The End of the Times". The USA is a highly developed country, a flawed one, but with many resources to fix the current situation.

To move to another country would be the real obvious response if you expect yours to go into chaos. To buy a gun and expect something positive out of it seems quite a Hollywood-inspired disillusion.
