I think you’re missing the point. Maybe it’s worth it for you but if that is the case you’re in a niche of a niche.

Maybe I'm unusual but pretty much all my friends own vehicles that are setup for weekend recreational activities even if they don't happen every week.

Same same but there is zero chance that an electric car doesn't have sufficient range in Europe and I imagine also in the vast majority of the US.
