I find the RPi tutorials great for tools and concepts I'm not familiar with, because the RPi blogs are often written for beginners. Debian is often more detailed and verbose, requiring more background knowledge and explaining more of the surrounding systems (which are a good thing if you're planning on deploying something in production).
There's a few exemptions though; Broadcom's incompatibilities, special bootloader setup and the Pi's deviating kernel headers sometimes make the guides not work for x86-based systems.
