Can we ban medium posts on HN already? imagine if we login-walled every piece on HN. we should not encourage this behavior and we have the clout to send Medium a message.

Because I block all cookies by default, I never run into this problem.
It was great but it was also a dread, even after training it. If you visit mostly the same sites I guess it's fine.
It still works.
medium literally exists to just put a wall between you and the authors content. nobody's making real money blogging on medium. and HN is an audience of developers, for whom standing up their own blog is trivial.
ironically dev.to is shadowbanned on HN (understandable because lots of blogpspam), when medium is the one that gives readers a terrible reading experience.
Links should only be allowed to the public internet.
I didn't study the content closely, but it certainly looked like the flags were fair.
I'm not sure we do. Medium is comparatively a much bigger and more mainstream platform than HN.
I've been asking this for years.
"It's ok to post stories from sites with paywalls that have workarounds. In comments, it's ok to ask how to read an article and to help other users do so. But please don't post complaints about paywalls. Those are off topic. More here."
Perhaps there's a need gap for 3rd party service which can work out a deal between news websites and submission forums.
