The battery life of the Nest Protect is also incredible! I have them for 3 years already without changing the batteries.

This is what I came here to post. So easy, so much function, even with rechargeable batteries.

Many much less expensive non-IoT smoke alarms now voice announce the alarm type and location.

Do they come with other sensors other than smoke? I have a hard time believing google would not take the opportunity to monitor my movements.

They also have Carbon Monoxide sensors.

They have a motion sensor you can use for triggering the light and activating cameras etc.

Yup, there it is. I knew they couldn't keep they paws off of personal life.
