This is a good illustration of why a general strike would be the most impactful form of protest. The government relies on the work of these citizens every single day to maintain power.

I think it's an interesting question. How much do you weaken the opposition from limiting the internet to periods.

You can't stop chunks of information. Video still comes in and out. But you do stop the flow.

For instance the West is less interested in day old protest footage, than 'Breaking'.

And they're cutting it when the West is awake to consume something live.

I would guess that you never weaken the core opposition, but sympathetic other folks working in the day... you might limit their exposure to the core folks.
