That's not what this is. The former Prime Minister recently said that allowing women to talk in meetings made them last too long. The women invited to these meetings are allowed to have opinions about the discussion, just not share those opinions at the meeting itself.

That's very different than "we invited the TPM to stand-up, on the condition they just listen."

It was that statement -- by an 83-year-old former prime minister -- which triggered the controversy, according to CNBC.

"Yoshiro Mori, the head of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic organizing committee, resigned last week after derogatory comments about women speaking too much at meetings and making them too long triggered backlash at home and abroad."
