Zeal is similar and cross-platform. I think Zeal takes its docs from Dash though.

When I try to download zeal for mac, it redirects me to the dash website.

Too bad that website doesn't specify how much space that all takes. Would be interesting to know.

I checked, and it’s split per language/library/framework. The SO offline docset for Python is 2.2 GB, and the docset for JS is 3.02 GB right now.

Awesome thanks! That's not too bad!

Do you really need to know? I doubt it takes up more than 30 GB, you're not downloading all of StackOverflow, just the content.

Yeah because the SSD on my laptop isn't that big. It's 240 GB. Most of which is already filled.

An alternative way of having offline documentation directly in the browser: https://devdocs.io/

While it's not for documentation per se, I think archivebox[0] can be very useful for that use case.

Disclaimer: I never used it, just came across this a while ago and thought it was cool.
