It's opt-out. Feel free to check this yourself, instead of mindlessly defending Firefox. I'm tired of this exclusionary attitude on Hacker News, to be perfectly honest.

There is absolutely no warning that this telemetry is active, which is a dark-pattern in itself.

Looks like the Firefox mob have already got to this post. No wonder nothing is changing.
