Generally a terrorist uses extreme violence to "terrorize", hence the name. A crowd of morons busting into the Capitol building, calmly wandering the hallways, and taking selfies, scarcely meets the definition, even if some of the politicians felt terror.
If only the 9/11 terrorists, and all terrorists, were this tame.
Your information is out-of-date. The images that came out on Wednesday gave the false impression that it was all morons in horned helmets taking selfies. The video footage that has come out since then shows that there were also extremely violent participants.

I strongly disagree with this characterization of a mob that was chanting "hang mike pence", erected a gallows, trampled a woman to death, and killed a cop.
Some of them were calm at times. Then again - so were the 9/11 terrorists, in the airport before they hijacked planes.
The only report of an officer down was erroneously attributed to someone beating him with a fire extinguisher. The latest information is that there was no fire extinguisher, but instead he suffered some kind of delayed reaction to a gas canister (fired by the police).
Do you have a link to a reputable source for this? The ones I read still include the fire extinguisher.

I will say that none of them attacked the Capitol to overturn a fair election after being egged on by a sitting president based on a lie that every relevant court in the land has thrown out as utter nonsense. This particular incident is far more serious. It'll be studied in the history books 100 years from now.
More people are shot to death on a peaceful weekend in Chicago, and nobody even talks about it.
This particular incident is likely to lead to a record 2nd impeachment of a president. Donald Trump will account for 50% of all US presidential impeachments. That's how rare and historic they are. Are you seriously arguing no one's going to remember it in a month?
