I have this crazy idea to build a pull requests system for HN comments. People could suggest edits that way without cluttering the threads. It's either a terrible idea or a great one.
For users to PR their own comments, or for anyone to PR any comments? The former sounds overcomplicated, but the latter... I don't know how that would turn out, but it would be fascinating to watch.
