There are no riots going on in NYC.

Crime is not rampant here, that's a lie being told to you by conservative media.

I'm just confused. Is the point that I'm supposed to think that being murdered is a serious risk you face in day to day life?

I just feel like "rampant crime" seems utterly divorced from most of the problems I actually feel like I face in life and government needs to address.
