I see no problem here. Kid should sue and win. Doctor gets investigated by the local/regional/national board of medicine and is disbarred for not practicing evidence-based medicine. Jail comes under investigation for their choice to hire the doctor (who ostensibly lacked the red flags to prevent his hiring).

This is how the system works. It’s not like you can know which doctors are the bad apples before malpractice like this.

“When I found out they were giving him the pill, I was like, why didn’t they ask me? When I found out what kind of pill was it, I was like, this is terrible,” the father said. “He’s only 16, and they were forcing him to take it.”

This is the only bit in question. Seems like the jail should be found culpable for not notifying the parent of any treatment details.
