How would this work for the acceptance of self driving cars?

If the self driving cars are significantly safer than human drivers, it's a bit hard to argue that self driving cars should be banned.

In that analogy if you ban self driving cars you also have ban humans driving cars. After all we have plenty of proof of the bad reliability of humans driving vehicles at any speed.
