I don't have a horse in the race, but watched this closely. The whole situation put Apple in a bad light, and Basecamp got free publicity. I hesitate to say it was planned, as DHH likes to mention he's not THAT smart. Regardless of the drama, HEY the actual product, looks like it does a lot of things right.
