Even better than blocking AMP is just redirecting to the proper page[0].

Yes, that is even better! Unfortunately it doesn’t work on iOS, or I would have never created my list. Literally the only thing I miss about Android was being able to use browser extensions like uBlock Origin with Firefox on Android. Safari has its built-in content filters but it’s not the same.

Sadly, Ublock Origin is literally the only Firefox extension available on Android atm.

Not quite literal: It's recently up to 6 addons -- the others are https everywhere, privacy badger, noscript, dark reader, and search by image.

Note to others: this is about the upcoming rewrite, available as Firefox Preview and Firefox Beta.

Firefox Beta and Firefox Preview are a bit different. Preview and Focus are both currently a bit more experimental, they're stable but they're not guaranteed to be kept alive. Firefox Beta and Nightly are both the current latest versions of what will be merged into the stable.

There's a big rewrite being done and the current stable Firefox for Android which supports basically all addons that the desktop version does, will be deprecated soon-ish. Preview has a broader support.

Beta and Nightly only support uBlock Origin, literally.

Preview supports six addons in all, but Preview isn't a promise of whats to come as they consider it a pilot.

Huh, I stand corrected. I assumed that since the geckoview / the new UI had come to beta, that it supported the same addons as preview.

Firefox for Android?

I got:

Don't f* with paste, Disable WebRTC, Dark Mode, a couple of image savers, NoScript, AdBlock Plus, Privacy Badger.

I recommend https://filterlists.com/ if you use any blockers, it's an easy way to subscribe to lists.

I have the beta, and only have uBlock origin. If I go to the addons site it tells me that, for example, privacy badger is not available on Firefox for Android.

Why not redrect to the blazing fast AMP page in the original domain (without the Google CDN), instead of often bloated full HTML page? E.g. https://example-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/example.com/amp_d... => https://example.com/amp_document.html

Does that extension break with this most recent change though?

This most recent change is just a bug in Image Search, at least based on the tweets I read. The extension seems to inspect the AMP article's URL and HTML, both of which are outside the scope of Image Search: https://github.com/da2x/amp2html

Yessss. Any chrome equivalent

Aside from installing Firefox (best option), there is this:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/redirect-amp-to-ht...

It’s also available for Edge. https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/abjhjmfkmd...
