Yea a lot of microsoft stuff doesn’t work in Firefox. They are the worst of all the big companies at supporting it.
For reference, IE accounted for ~96% of browser use when that whole antitrust case was happening.
In this case, ~90% of web searches go through Google[0]. So they are using the fact that they are the number one web search engine to convince users to switch to Google Chrome.

And why it is paramount to not use any chromium browser whilst we have a choice to. Luckily, you don't have to give up on anything.
Except, you know, Microsoft products. Like Skype.
Regardless, sure, use a chromium browser for that task if you absolutely must. It is good separation anyway.
