And California has an extremely low corona mortality rate, with most of the population exposed to it since Dec.
So it looks like the "science" HN'ers spout about spread and mortality is completely wrong.
I think you should consider that patients aren't generally placed on ventilators until they are already nearly dead. Concluding that ventilators kill patients is similar to concluding that going to the hospital increases your risk of death. Correlation is not causation; significant covariance often occurs in the real world.
(Assuming the statistics you're reporting aren't made up)
Most Californians have not been exposed to it. Claiming otherwise is wishful thinking that doesn't fit the hospitalizations curve or the deaths curve.
There’s also zero evidence that anyone was exposed in the USA before mid-January.
In the unlikely event you aren't just trolling, this is because only extremely sick people are put on ventilators. The death rate for people with bad cases is higher when they don't have ventilation.
reported where?
It would be 100% without the ventilators. They go on ventilators when they have to be on them and at that point the disease is severe and the prognosis is grim.
In the US 45,000 people have died from COVID-19 so far, and that's with all the countermeasures and restrictions that have been put in place. That number is still going up. Yesterday saw the highest number of new confirmed cases in the US since testing began:
This is not quite true. [0] Ventilators are one option at that stage of disease, and some doctors are moving away from them because of their negative effects.
