Here, you misread. OP said "they look similar" and "they" refers to remdesivir and adenosine, from the prior sentence's clause "Remdesivir is an analog of adenosine".
See how both of them have a ribose ring? And then the functional group attached to be 1' carbon, that's also similar to adenine.
