Let's not make this about Trump, at least not just yet, shall we?

Since it was flagged, can you tell me how they were trying to blame Trump for this?

A more polite way of saying it would be along the lines of:

We're in trouble if a real crisis hits where we depend on leadership to be intelligent, truthful, and have our best interests as a country at heart.

Haha, boy, you're giving the flagged commenter a lot of credit with that rephrasing. The original comment was something close to "Good thing we have a fucking idiot to watch our borders."

Not sure we can blame the current leadership for the last 30+ years of issues.

That said our current govt will surely follow the path to the most profit for big pharma. Of that I have no doubt.

If its track record of starting medical cost transparency is any indication, I'd say it's following a different path than what benefits big pharma.

I'm just reporting on the gist of what was said, that our current leadership is not up to the challenge of something really serious.

I mean... it's hard to disagree. This is the guy who rants about windmill cancer, stared directly at the sun during the eclipse and thinks Article II of the constitution allows him to do "whatever he wants".

He also proposed some pretty serious cuts to the CDC last year. Not sure how much of those actually made it out of budget committee, I suspect most of them didn't make it through, but certainly is an indication of his priorities.

Very few of them, and the CDC director is a serious and experienced scientist who believes in the mission of the agency.
