Well that's stupid. If I wanted American throw-back nostalgia, I'd watch Saved by the Bell, the Wonder Years, or something set there.

I think a real problem is that English schools are boring in the TV/movie sense.. and full of exams.

Indeed it's sex education. You get jocks and nerds, school lockers, the school canteen, all that, which is very american. It does irritate me a lot, but I have to say it's a really good show otherwise.
