Disabling javascript entirely on the page works for me.

Sounds like the page had a lot going on. I use Ublock Origin with my Microsoft Edge beta browser (Chromium), and that worked as per my post above.

It is not dead to me, you probably forgot to flag it.

Quite a few sites just draw overlay over the article, so sending it to Instapaper/Pocket work fine. Unfortunatelly paywalls are changing lately and it works on fewer and fewer sites.
