My 16 mile commute is quickest on my ebike.

Car = 35-40 minutes on average, sometimes more.

eBike = 30-35 minutes consistently.

The reason - bikes can 'filter' up to a set of lights, whereas a car in heavy traffic might take 2 or 3 rotations of the light to make it through a junction.

Don’t forget about those “no left turn” intersections where you can suddenly turn into a pedestrian.

Yup, the ability to transform into a pedestrian is underrated.

In Europe, this is strictly forbidden though, which is the one negative to their vastly safer infrastructure.

You can't bike across the crosswalk, but you can get off your bike, step onto the sidewalk and walk your bike across the pedestrian crossing.

Forbidden how? Getting off your bike to cross the street?

In Copenhagen at least there are rules for when you can turn left on your bike:
