Elm was my favorite Unix email client back before GUI-based email clients became a thing. I still think it's the best text-based email client out there. It's faster than anything else, supports Unicode, and provides a sensible user interface. It's too bad that the project name was appropriated by this (otherwise perfectly sensible) language project.
