The internet is a continuum beyond physical locality. That was why we (humans) invented it.

It's no so much that the author is right or wrong, but he speaks from a perspective that is not relevant. Good for the companies built outside of Silicon Valley. Who said for Silicon Valley to win, everyone else needs to lose?
