If you don't want clickbait headlines, pay for quality writing in the form of subscriptions.

Sign up for quality publications, maybe a few on the local level and a few with a wider distribution, and read articles. Send them occasional letters saying how important those long-form articles are for you, and they're why you're subscribed.

If you want high quality, sober writing for free, who do you expect to pay for it?
