2x00u is zen i.e. 1800x/1700x with a few tweaks
3x00u/h is zen+ (2700x,2600x) i.e. not this Zen2 architecture
The Zen2 models are rumored to be announced early next year.
I have the Lenovo A485 (2700u) it's mostly in line with an i5 8th gen. But with better on board graphics. If you run Linux the support is generally flaw less. The big caveat is less energy efficient at idle.
The big changes coming next year should be USB4 (thunderbolt). As a number of X570 motherboards now have thunder bolt.
It's all rumor and here say at this point. Initially I felt the 2700u wasn't worth the price. But after time, and active patches from AMD to the Linux kernel. It's been doing really well.
