I was laughing hard when I heard the audience grown at that announcement. The presenter's face just DROPPED. Seriously, that had to be an "Oh shit" moment.

Speaks to how out-of-touch Apple's management is if they though that wouldn't have gone over as poorly as it did.

I guess you could prop your $6000 monitor up against the wall or some milk crates or something. Are they including a power cable in the box or is that a $99 extra?

For the price they should have microwave beamed power. Two cables hanging off the back are just too ugly to countenance.

For me the last line in the article obnoxiously sums up Apple's attitude towards pricing.

Time for some Dadaist tinkering.

The bill of materials is probably $50-100 or less to turn an iPad Pro into a viable stand for the Pro Display.

But now your monitor can go vertical. It’s good for coding!

People are going to be leaning this thing on their wall or on a stack of dollar bills, that might even be cheaper.

That's inflation for you.

And only $129 for the 4" wall mount.

$200 for the Vesa mount. Oof.
