A province (or state) has no business making legislation like this. It allows them to aggressively pat each other on the back and assert that they're finally "doing something about _______", while standing atop some defeated straw man of "big oil" or other nonsense.

As others have asserted, that energy has to come from somewhere. I'm more than willing to bet that the losses from conversion and transportation add up to make it less efficient, and more polluting.
